We are seeking a dedicated HLTA to join a dynamic and supportive Resourced Provision in Bradford. This setting caters to Key Stage 3 and 4 students who have been excluded from mainstream education or require additional social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) support. About the Role
As an HLTA in this Bradford-based Resourced Provision, you will play a pivotal role in re-engaging students with their education. You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored interventions, manage classroom behaviour, and occasionally lead small groups or whole classes in the absence of the teacher. Your goal will be to build professional, trusting relationships with students, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and develop vital life skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver small group learning sessions and 1:1 interventions.
* Provide classroom cover, leading lessons across a variety of subjects when required.
* Support the emotional well-being of students using de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour management.
* Collaborate with the SENCO and class teachers to track student progress and adapt learning materials.
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
Requirements
* **HLTA Status** or a relevant Level 4 qualification (experienced Level 3 TAs with significant cover experience will be considered).
* Proven experience working within a PRU, Alternative Provision, or with students displaying SEMH needs.
* Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient temperament.
* Team Teach or similar de-escalation training is highly desirable.
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
* A genuine passion for supporting disadvantaged youth in the Bradford area.
