The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a forward-thinking primary school with a strong SEN focus. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and keen to make a real impact on pupils’ learning and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead whole-class and small-group teaching sessions under the direction of teaching staff.

Deliver tailored learning activities that meet the diverse needs of learners, including pupils with SEND.
*
Support personalised learning through adapted resources and evidence-based interventions.
*
Provide guidance and mentoring to other support staff.
*
Help maintain a calm, respectful, and positive classroom atmosphere that reflects the school’s values.
*
Monitor pupil progress and contribute to planning, assessment, and review.
*
Encourage pupil independence, resilience, and personal development.
*
Work closely with teachers, families, and external professionals to support each child holistically.
Person Specification
You will:

Hold an HLTA qualification (or equivalent).
*
Have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally with SEN.
*
Be confident differentiating learning for a range of abilities and needs.
*
Demonstrate strong communication, organisation, and behaviour-management skills.
*
Be reflective, compassionate, and committed to collaborative practice.
*
