About the Role
This role is ideal for candidates with strong manual machining experience. Time-served backgrounds are preferred but not essential for individuals with suitable hands-on capability.
Key Responsibilities
Machining large, complex cast components to detailed engineering drawings and specified tolerances.
Ensuring production targets and timeframes are met.
Working a mixture of day and nights
Conducting visual inspections to ensure quality and accuracy of machined parts.
Setting and operating a range of manual machines including lathes and vertical borers.
Marking and identifying materials correctly during the machining process.
Working collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Following all company health & safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment.
Skills & Experience Required
Experience within similar role, or within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings.
Competent in working to tight tolerances and using precision measuring equipment.
High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines.
Comfortable working independently or as part of a wider team.
Flexibility with working hours, including overtime and shift patterns.
Good understanding of health & safety, environmental standards and quality systems.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
