Job Description

French Teacher (KS3/KS4) with KS3 Spanish
Location: Barnet (NW7)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, 5 days per week
Duration: Until Easter (potential to go permanent)

Job Description:
A mainstream secondary school in Barnet is seeking a passionate and skilled French Teacher to deliver KS3–KS4 French and KS3 Spanish. The school offers a supportive leadership team, strong departmental structure, and a welcoming environment for both experienced teachers and confident ECTs.

Role Responsibilities:

  * 

    Plan and deliver engaging French lessons across KS3–KS4

  * 

    Teach Spanish at KS3 level

  * 

    Assess, track, and report on student progress

  * 

    Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development

  * 

    Maintain high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and classroom management

  * 

    Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff

Candidate Requirements:

  * 

    QTS or recognised teaching qualification

  * 

    Proven experience teaching French at KS3/KS4

  * 

    Ability to teach Spanish at KS3

  * 

    Strong subject knowledge and commitment to raising attainment

  * 

    Reliable, professional, and able to commit to a full-time role

  * 

    Available to start immediately

All applicants must meet standard secondary school compliance checks, including:

  * 

    Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  * 

    Full right to work in the UK

  * 

    Proof of address and identity checks

  * 

    Two recent and relevant professional references

  * 

    Overseas police checks (if applicable)

  * 

    Verification of teaching qualifications and QTS

  * 

    Safeguarding training (can be provided if out of date)
