Travis Talent is delighted to be partnering with a forward-thinking Sheffield city centre client who are establishing an exciting new Advanced Manufacturing training centre. They deliver a range of professional development courses including Lean, Process Mapping, Project Management, Product Lifecycle, Internal Auditing, Leadership & Management and other specialist programmes.
As part of their ongoing growth, they are seeking a highly organised and professional Office Manager to play a central role in ensuring the smooth running of the centre and an excellent experience for all learners, visitors and staff.
This is a pivotal position for someone who enjoys being the operational heartbeat of a busy environment—balancing front-of-house duties, learner engagement, administration and wider business coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Learner Support & Centre Coordination
*
Act as the first point of contact for learners, providing a welcoming, supportive and professional experience, including onboarding.
*
Manage learner check-in and assist with on-site queries.
*
Prepare and organise training rooms, ensuring they are fully equipped each day.
*
Coordinate with trainers to ensure seamless delivery of sessions and workshops.
Customer & Consultant Communication
*
Serve as a communication hub between customers, learners, consultants and the internal team.
*
Manage incoming calls and emails, ensuring timely, helpful and professional responses.
*
Support consultants with scheduling, workshop preparation, documentation and project coordination.
Operations Support
*
Assist with project tracking, scheduling and reporting activities.
*
Maintain accurate records including training attendance, milestones, programme documentation and project progress.
*
Support the preparation of reports and materials for client engagements and ongoing contracts.
Finance & Credit Control
*
Assist with invoicing, payment tracking and credit control processes.
*
Communicate with customers and consultants regarding purchase orders, invoices and general financial queries.
*
Maintain accurate financial logs and follow up on outstanding payments where required.
Office & Centre Management
*
Oversee day-to-day administration to ensure an organised, efficient workplace.
*
Serve as front-of-house for all visitors, including customers, learners and partners.
*
Manage office supplies, meeting room bookings, visitor logs and general logistics.
*
Support Health & Safety processes and maintain a well-run, professional environment.
*
Provide wider administrative support to the management team.
Skills & Experience
*
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in supporting learners and customers.
*
Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
*
Competent user of Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools (Teams, Outlook, Excel).
*
Previous experience in office management, centre coordination, administration or customer service (preferred).
*
Ability to prioritise effectively, work independently and manage multiple tasks.
