About the School The school is committed to delivering a safe, inclusive and high-expectation environment where every young person can flourish. The pastoral team plays a pivotal role in shaping the school culture of positive behaviour, resilience and engagement. The Role * Lead behaviour management for the Year 8 & 9 cohorts: supporting students in-class, in corridors, break/lunch times and during transitions to ensure a calm, focused learning environment. * Work closely with form tutors, Year Leads and Senior Leadership to monitor, record and intervene in behavioural incidents; design and implement behaviour improvement plans and restorative / support programmes. * Provide mentoring and support to students who are at risk of disengagement, poor behaviour or attendance; liaise with parents/carers and external agencies as required. * Promote and maintain the school’s behaviour policy: using rewards, sanctions, de-escalation strategies and restorative conversations to support behaviour change. * Be highly visible around the school, modelling high expectations of conduct, making positive contact with students, and supporting staff in maintaining effective behaviour standards. * Maintain accurate records of behaviour incidents, interventions and outcomes; provide regular reports and analysis to the pastoral team to inform strategy. About You * Proven experience working with young people in a school or education setting, with a strong track-record in behaviour management or pastoral support. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: able to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents; confident in delivering restorative conversations and behaviour interventions. * Calm, resilient and solutions-focussed, with the ability to respond quickly to behaviour incidents and maintain momentum for students’ reintegration and success. * Skilled in using behaviour-management systems and data tracking (or willing to learn); organised and able to prioritise competing demands. * A positive role-model: committed to promoting the school’s values, safeguarding and high standards of conduct for all students. Why Join? * A key role in a supportive, forward-thinking school where behaviour and pastoral provision are genuinely valued. * The opportunity to make a tangible difference to the lives of young people at a pivotal stage (Years 8 & 9) of their secondary education. * Joining a dedicated pastoral team with clear professional development pathways and a strong ethos of continuous improvement. How to Apply Please send your CV and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience in behaviour/pastoral support and your motivation for working with this age group in a secondary setting.
