Job Title: Senior Payroll Administrator

Location: Stockport

Office Based: Yes

Hours: 9-5:30

Type: Permanent

Salary: £30,000-£33,000

Are you an experienced payroll professional looking for your next challenge in a fast-paced, people-focused environment? I am seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to lead the delivery of accurate, compliant payroll services.

In this NEW key role, you'll take ownership of end-to-end payroll processes, provide guidance to a dedicated team, and help drive continuous improvement across operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead payroll operations across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly cycles, ensuring timely and compliant processing.

Review and validate payroll outputs, including statutory deductions (PAYE, NI, RTI, pensions), ensuring full compliance with current legislation.

Act as the primary escalation point for complex payroll queries from contractors, clients, and internal teams.

Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and liaise with external bodies such as HMRC when required.

Provide leadership support, stepping in for the Head of Payroll as needed to maintain operational continuity.

About You:

Strong understanding of both weekly and monthly payroll processing.

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style.

A natural leader who can mentor and support junior team members.

Ideally CIPP qualified (or currently working towards qualification).
