Band 6 Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist – Older Persons Service
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Team: Older Persons Assessment Unit
Contract: Full-time, Locum – Ongoing
Start Date: ASAP
Overview
* Tripod is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join the Older Persons Therapy Service based in Bourmeouth
* This role offers the chance to work within a forward-thinking multidisciplinary team, providing specialist therapy input to older adults from point of admission through to safe and effective discharge.
* The service is recognised for its collaborative approach to frailty, working seamlessly across hospital and community pathways.
Main Duties
* Deliver comprehensive assessments and tailored interventions for older adults with varied and complex needs.
* Provide therapy across the Older Persons Assessment Unit (OPAU), inpatient wards, and outlier areas.
* Plan and implement rehabilitation programmes that support independence and optimise recovery.
* Work closely with the wider MDT to ensure smooth discharge planning and effective communication with community services.
* Participate in ongoing service improvement and contribute to a positive, proactive team culture.
* Maintain high-quality clinical records in accordance with HCPC standards and Trust policy.
Essential Criteria
* Degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy (BSc or MSc).
* Current HCPC registration.
* Previous experience within acute or community settings; experience with older adults or frailty is advantageous.
* Strong clinical reasoning skills and excellent communication abilitiesBefore You Apply
