Domestic Plumbing & Heating Trainer / Assessor (Full Training Provided) 

St Ives, Cambridgeshire 

£38,000 - £41,500 + Full Training on Renewables + Teaching Qualifications + Assessor Qualifications + Pension + 36 Days Holiday + Monday to Friday (8:30am - 5:00pm)

As the industry continues to evolve, apprentices now have pathways into both traditional gas systems and renewable technologies. To support this growing demand, the organisation continues to invest in areas such as Air Source Heat Pumps, Ground Source Heat Pumps, Solar Thermal and Rainwater Recycling systems, creating an excellent opportunity for experienced plumbing and heating engineers to broaden their own expertise. 

In this role, you will deliver practical and classroom-based training to apprentices while also carrying out workplace assessments and learner reviews. You will support learners throughout their apprenticeship journey, helping them develop the technical skills, industry knowledge and professional behaviours required to succeed within the industry. 

The ideal candidate will come directly from industry and hold a full NVQ Level 3 in Domestic Plumbing & Heating alongside domestic gas qualifications. Previous teaching or assessing experience is not required as full training, teaching qualifications and assessor qualifications will be provided.

The Role 
*Deliver Plumbing & Heating training to apprentices and learners 
*Support practical workshop sessions and classroom-based learning 
*Carry out learner assessments, reviews and progress monitoring 
*Teach across traditional plumbing, heating and emerging renewable technologies 
*Gain training in Air Source Heat Pumps, Ground Source Heat Pumps, Solar Thermal and Rainwater Recycling systems 
*Full teaching and assessor training provided 
*Monday to Friday position based in St Ives 

The Person 
*Full NVQ Level 3 in Domestic Plumbing & Heating 
*Domestic Gas qualifications (minimum CCN1 and CENWAT) 
*Strong Plumbing & Heating industry experience 
*Expired gas qualifications considered 
*Interest in renewable technologies 
*Strong communication and mentoring skills 
*Looking to move into training and education 
*No previous teaching experience required
