Sewell Wallis are partnering with a forward-thinking and unique Accounting Practice based in Sheffield to recruit a Portfolio Manager / Client Finance Director Team Leader.

As Portfolio Manager, you will join a multi-award-winning accountancy and advisory practice, supporting ambitious start-ups, scale-ups, and SMEs to automate their finances, optimise processes, and free up valuable time, all while helping to drive sustainable growth.

You will manage your own portfolio of clients, lead a team of accountants, and contribute to the strategic development of the firm.

What will you be doing?

Leading, developing, and upskilling a team of accounting professionals delivering a comprehensive range of accounting and business advisory services.
Acting as a strategic finance partner to client leadership teams, with a focus on growth, profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term financial planning.
Overseeing automated financial systems, monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and compliance requirements.
Ensuring clients are audit-ready and well-prepared for fundraising, investment, or exit strategies.
Bringing objective insight, financial discipline, and structured strategic thinking to client engagements.
Leveraging the firm's software and technology solutions to enhance innovation and operational efficiency.
Championing and embodying the firm's core values: being kind, bold, collaborative, results-driven, and people-focused.What skills are we looking for?

* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
* Tech-savvy with strong experience using leading accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, etc.).
* A strong, supportive leader who leads by example and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
* Hands-on experience in management accounts, forecasting, financial modelling, cash-flow management, and compliance.
An excellent communicator with the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.What's on offer?
