Interim Project Manager

Pay: Circa £500 a day
We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead and coordinate transformation activity within a Local Authority Housing service on an interim basis until the end of January. This role will focus on delivering measurable service improvements through effective project management, agile delivery, and strong stakeholder engagement.
The Role
As Interim Project Manager, you’ll take responsibility for managing a portfolio of housing transformation projects, ensuring they’re delivered to time, quality, and budget. You’ll:

Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of housing transformation projects.

Establish and maintain project plans, delivery roadmaps, and governance documentation.
*
Facilitate agile practices including daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
*
Produce key project artefacts including initiation documents, risk registers, action logs, and highlight reports.
*
Work closely with service leads, transformation colleagues, and stakeholders to identify and deliver improvements.
*
Track benefits and performance metrics to demonstrate efficiency, compliance, and customer impact.
*
Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for senior management and governance boards.
*
Ensure all project activity aligns with corporate standards, governance, and statutory obligations.
About You
You’ll bring a strong background in project and programme management, ideally within housing or local government, with the ability to drive complex change initiatives from concept to delivery. You will also have:

Proven experience leading multiple projects and workstreams.
*
Strong knowledge of agile delivery methods (Scrum, Kanban, or AgilePM).
*
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills.
*
Experience preparing project documentation and governance reports.
*
A proactive, solution-focused approach to overcoming delivery challenges.
*
(Desirable) Professional qualifications such as AgilePM, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or APM PMQ.
