Project Manager

Hampshire based with other offices in Gloucestershire and Woking, Requires 2 days p/week on site - 6 months initial contract (Inside IR35) – SC Required

We are looking for a Project Manager to provide support to the Defence business unit, delivering activities across multiple concurrent projects.

Areas of Responsibility

  * Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables with stakeholders

  * Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and milestones

  * Allocate and manage resources effectively

  * Control budgets, track costs, and ensure financial compliance

  * Lead and motivate cross-functional teams

  * Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues

  * Monitor progress and implement corrective actions as needed

  * Manage stakeholder communication and expectations

  * Maintain project documentation and reporting

  * Ensure quality standards are met across all deliverables

  * Support effective project closure, including lessons learned

Knowledge & Experience Required

  * Proven project management experience across hardware/software delivery (up to £5m), from concept through to deployment

  * Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

  * Experience with bid/pre-sales activities and full project lifecycle delivery

  * Background working with the UK Ministry of Defence or similar environments

  * Commercial and financial awareness, including budgeting and negotiation

  * Ability to manage multiple projects, risks, and priorities in deadline-driven environments

  * Experience with rapid prototyping or accelerated development programmes (e.g. UORs)

  * Skilled in leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing subcontractors/suppliers

  * Familiarity with product development, research, or consultancy environments

  * Relevant certifications (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, APM PMQ, Agile) preferred
