Job Description

Quantity Surveyor – Contract Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support a commercial team on a live construction project in Oxford.

This is a 3-month contract role with the successful candidate working predominantly site-based in Oxford, with 1–2 days per week in the Reading office.

The role will suit a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable managing the day-to-day commercial aspects of a live project and can work independently within an established team.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Site-based cost control and commercial management

  * 

    Managing and pricing variations

  * 

    Handling subcontractor payments and valuations

  * 

    Supporting cost reporting and forecasting

  * 

    Attending client and project meetings when required

  * 

    Feeding into monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasting

  * 

    Supporting the wider commercial team with project delivery

Requirements

  * 

    Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction

  * 

    Experience working site-based on live projects

  * 

    Strong experience managing variations and subcontractor accounts

  * 

    Good understanding of commercial reporting processes

  * 

    Experience working under JCT or NEC contracts

Desirable

  * 

    Experience working for main contractors or developers

  * 

    Ability to work independently and support the commercial team
