Location: Newport, South Wales Pay Rate: £92.63 per day Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm Contract: September 2026 ⭐Become a School Support Officer with Teaching Personnel this academic year!⭐ Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We’re looking for a confident and proactive School Support Officer to provide full-time assistance across the school’s classrooms. The school features a Specialist Resource Base (SRB) for pupils with complex needs, providing tailored support to develop social and emotional skills. This role involves supporting pupils with emotional and behavioural needs, additional learning needs, and offering general classroom support. You’ll work 1:1 and in small groups, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and develop positive coping strategies. While formal teaching qualifications or classroom experience are not required for this role, any proven experience supporting children or young people—is highly valued and transferable for this role! This is a dynamic, hands-on position where resilience, patience, and adaptability are essential. Resilient, patient and understanding attitude Proven experience supporting children or young people (Desirable) Experience working with individuals with additional learning needs (ALN) (Desirable) Deliver consistent support during lessons and daily activities tailored to individual pupil needs The ability to implement strategies to manage and de-escalate behaviour effectively Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment Requirements (or willingness to obtain at your own cost) To demonstrate your commitment to working in education, you must either hold or be prepared to apply for the following: Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) Aged 18 or over An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service Level 2 Safeguarding training At least two professional references covering 24 months employment Why Choose Teaching Personnel?
