SEN Teacher – Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire Border
Salary: £37,000 – £54,000 (inclusive of welcome bonus)
Hours: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours per week)
At Key health we are recruiting on behalf of a specialist education provider situated on the Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border. The organisation is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled SEN Teacher to support its continued growth.
This role is within a highly specialist setting that delivers personalised education to children and young people aged 6–19 with complex needs, including PMLD, SLD, MLD, autism, ADHD, sensory and physical impairments, medical requirements, and behavioural or emotional challenges. The school benefits from high-quality resources, therapeutic support on-site, extensive outdoor learning areas, and a Hydrotherapy pool.
The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, designing learning that empowers students to build confidence, independence and essential life skills.
The Role
You will take ownership of developing and delivering tailored learning programmes that meet each student’s unique needs. Working alongside therapists, leaders, and support staff, you’ll help ensure each learner is supported holistically. The setting promotes a collaborative environment and offers clear pathways for professional development and future progression.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver structured, personalised teaching that challenges and engages pupils
• Establish a calm, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
• Work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to meet each student’s needs
• Support curriculum planning and contribute ideas for improvement
• Provide leadership and guidance to classroom support teams
• Assess, track and document progress accurately
• Undertake personal care or physical intervention where appropriate
What We’re Looking For
• PGCE, QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Demonstrated commitment to continued professional learning and growth
• Knowledge of Teacher Standards and expectations
• Awareness or experience of SEN practice, especially sensory-led approaches
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Precision in assessment, record-keeping and reporting
• Confidence leading and mentoring classroom support staff
