SEN Teacher (SEMH / EBD) | Full-Time | Colchester | September Start

Tradewind Recruitment are currently supporting a specialist provision in the Colchester area to appoint a full-time SEN Teacher from September, working with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behavioural difficulties.

This role would suit a teacher who is confident managing behaviour, building positive relationships, and delivering structured, engaging lessons that support both academic progress and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

Full-time teaching role within a specialist SEMH setting
Planning and delivering adapted lessons to meet a range of needs
Supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional regulation
Working closely with support staff to maintain consistency and routine
Monitoring progress against individual learning and behavioural targetsAbout the School:

Specialist setting focused on SEMH and behavioural support
Experienced staff team with a consistent, team-based approach
Emphasis on routine, boundaries, and relationship-building
Smaller class sizes to allow for more targeted support

A teacher with experience in SEN, SEMH or EBD settings
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
A calm, consistent and resilient approach
The ability to build trust with pupils who may find mainstream education challenging
