An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join a brand-new special educational needs (SEN) provision in Sandwell, opening in January 2026.
This is a rare and rewarding chance to become part of the founding team in a growing specialist setting, dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.
About the Setting:
The school will open in January 2026 for students aged 11-16, with plans to expand to a full 11-25 provision, including post-16 education. The initial group will include around 20 pupils with mixed and undiagnosed needs.
As one of the school's initial SEN Teaching Assistants, you'll play a key role in establishing a nurturing, inclusive environment where every learner feels valued and supported.
The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils' learning and wellbeing.
Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual needs.
Assist in delivering lessons that are creative, engaging, and accessible to all.
Support pupils with a range of social, emotional, communication, and learning needs.
Help create a calm, positive, and safe learning environment.
Contribute to the wider life of a brand-new school community.
We are looking for SEN TAs who are:
Experienced in working within a special school or specialist provision (essential).
Patient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
Skilled in using a range of strategies to support pupils with mixed or undiagnosed needs.
Positive, proactive team players who can help shape a new setting from the ground up.
Committed to helping every child achieve their personal best.
