Are you a caring, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people? Tradewind Recruitment is working with a number of valued partner schools across Milton Keynes to recruit dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
We are recruiting for opportunities across a variety of specialist and mainstream schools with SEN provisions, supporting pupils from Early Years through to Post-16. These long-term roles offer the chance to work in supportive environments where every day is rewarding and no two days are the same.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, moderate and severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD), and complex needs. You may work on a one-to-one basis or with small groups, helping pupils access learning, develop confidence and achieve their individual goals.
The Role:
Support pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs both in and out of the classroom.
Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions tailored to individual needs.
Encourage positive behaviour, independence and emotional wellbeing.
Adapt learning activities to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to support pupil progress.
Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, either in education or a related setting.
A calm, patient and resilient approach.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Relevant qualifications are welcomed but not essential; experience and the right attitude are equally valued.
