Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity in Guildford?
We are looking for dedicated, compassionate and confident Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across a range of educational settings in Guildford and the surrounding area.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. You may be supporting children with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties and complex learning needs.
Your responsibilities may include:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
Supporting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development
Implementing individual learning and behaviour support strategies
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
Helping create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
Supporting pupils with their confidence, independence and engagement
Recording progress and providing feedback where appropriate
About You
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have:
Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar role
Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
A patient, nurturing and consistent approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
The confidence to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally
A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential
The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE, TA qualifications, Supporting Teaching & Learning or SEND-specific training are desirable, but relevant experience will also be highly valued.
