SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism Specialist School | North Bristol (BS35)

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity supporting children and young people with Autism?

Protocol Education is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants for a specialist Autism school in North Bristol (BS35). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference while working in a supportive and specialist educational environment.

Due to the school's location, access by car is essential, so candidates must be able to drive and have reliable transport.

About the Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with Autism and additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence and build confidence.

Your responsibilities may include:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support.
Supporting pupils with Autism and additional needs.
Assisting with classroom learning and activities.
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
Encouraging communication, independence and social development.
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
Working closely with teachers and the wider school team.
Creating a safe, calm and supportive learning environment.

‍ Who We're Looking For

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who:

Have previous Teaching Assistant or relevant school-based experience.
Have experience supporting children or young people with Autism or SEND.
Are drivers with access to their own reliable vehicle due to the school's location.
Are available to work full-time, although part-time or flexible availability may also be considered.
Are patient, resilient, caring and adaptable.
Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Are passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs.
