SEN Teaching Assistant - PMLD, ASC & SEMH
 Location: Atherton 
 Days: Monday - Friday (full-time)
 Start: As soon as possible
 Contract: Long-term (with potential for permanence)

Tradewind Recruitment are looking for a caring, resilient and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEN school supporting pupils with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties), ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.

This is a rewarding role suited to someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers, develop independence and experience success every day.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide tailored support to children with complex needs, including PMLD and ASC
Support pupils with SEMH needs using patience, empathy and positive behaviour strategies
Assist with personal care, mobility, sensory activities and communication programs (where required)
Work 1:1 or within small classes alongside teachers and therapists
Help create a calm, safe and structured environment
Use adaptive, nurturing approaches to encourage progress and independence
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs and multi-disciplinary teamsThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with children with SEN (PMLD, ASC, SEMH or similar)
A calm, patient and compassionate approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A willingness to support personal care and physical needs
Resilience, adaptability and a positive mindset
