Role Overview
As the school's SENCO, you will play a key role in shaping, coordinating, and delivering high-quality SEN provision. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, external professionals, and families to ensure students receive targeted interventions and personalised plans that enable success.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all SEN provision across the school
Lead on EHCP reviews, referrals, and assessment processes
Provide expert guidance and training to teaching and support staff
Develop tailored interventions and monitor student progress
Liaise with external agencies, therapists, and local authority professionals
Ensure statutory responsibilities around SEND compliance are fully met
Support whole-school strategy for inclusion, wellbeing, and behaviour
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
National SENCO Award (or willingness to work towards it)
Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes
Experience supporting learners with SEN, ideally including SEMH and ASD
Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills
