SEND Teaching Assistants - Flexible Roles Across Huddersfield & Kirklees

Are you a caring, resilient, and adaptable Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
 We are looking for experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to work in special schools, alternative provisions, and mainstream settings with SEND units across Huddersfield and Kirklees. Whether you're seeking flexible day-to-day work or a consistent long-term placement, we'd love to hear from you!

🧩 About the Role:

* Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with a wide range of SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, PMLD, and complex communication needs
 * Assist with classroom learning, sensory regulation, emotional well-being, and structured routines
 * Work collaboratively with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver personalised learning plans and EHCP targets
 * Support the development of communication skills using strategies such as Makaton, PECS, visual schedules, or social stories
 * Help implement behaviour support plans, de-escalation strategies, and provide a consistent, nurturing presence
 * Promote independence, engagement, and a positive, inclusive learning environment
 * Support with mobility, personal care, or medical needs when required

✅ What We're Looking For:

* A minimum of 1 year's experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in a school, care, or youth setting)
 * Experience working with needs such as ASC, SEMH, speech & language delays, or complex learning difficulties
 * Relevant training or qualifications (CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, MAPA, Makaton, etc.) are highly desirable
 * Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
 * A nurturing approach and the ability to build trusting, positive relationships
 * Flexibility to adapt to different settings, pupil needs, and daily expectations
 * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through us)
