We're partnering with a highly respected contractor services provider seeking a Senior Payroll Advisor to join their growing payroll team. The Role

As Senior Payroll Advisor, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate and compliant payroll services across a diverse contractor portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include:

  * Processing weekly and monthly payroll for umbrella, CIS, and contractor workers

  * Calculating PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, holiday pay, and statutory deductions

  * Validating timesheets, invoices, and payment instructions

  * Acting as a senior point of contact for contractor payroll queries

  * Investigating and resolving complex payroll discrepancies

  * Ensuring full compliance with HMRC, FCSA, SafeRec, AWR, and pension regulations

  * Supporting and mentoring junior payroll team members

  * Assisting with process improvements and system enhancements

  * Working closely with internal teams, agencies, and contractors

This is a highly visible, client-facing role within a busy contractor payroll environment.

About You

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

  * Proven experience within umbrella, CIS, or contractor payroll

  * Strong knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and holiday accrual

  * A solid understanding of HMRC legislation and payroll compliance

  * Experience working in a high-volume payroll environment

  * Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

  * A proactive, detail-focused approach

  * Previous experience supporting or mentoring colleagues
