Senior Site Manager – Residential Construction

Birmingham | Up to £70,000 + Car/Allowance + 10% Bonus + Package

The Opportunity

We are working with an established regional construction contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality residential developments across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Site Manager to take a leading role on a major apartment development in Birmingham, with individual project values of up to £20m.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Senior Site Manager looking to join a respected regional contractor where they will have genuine responsibility, autonomy and the opportunity to progress.

The Role

As Senior Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of a major residential development.

Key responsibilities will include:

  * Leading the site team from construction through to completion and handover

  * Managing and coordinating subcontractors and specialist contractors

  * Ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards

  * Working closely with the Project Manager and wider project team

  * Managing short- and medium-term programmes and construction sequencing

  * Coordinating logistics, site operations and the movement of materials and labour

  * Monitoring progress against programme and taking proactive action to address delays

  * Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and relevant standards

  * Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance

  * Managing quality assurance, inspections and snagging through to completion

  * Attending and leading site meetings with subcontractors, consultants and stakeholders

  * Building strong working relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners

  * Providing leadership and mentoring to Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers and wider site teams

  * Supporting the Project Manager with commercial and contractual matters where required

  * Ensuring accurate site records and documentation are maintained

About You

We are looking for an experienced Senior Site Manager with a strong background in residential construction, ideally with significant experience delivering apartment schemes.

You will ideally have:

Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager on residential developments

Experience delivering apartments / multi-unit residential schemes

Experience on projects valued at £10m–£20m+

Strong knowledge of construction processes, sequencing and site logistics

A proven track record of delivering projects safely, on programme and to a high standard

Strong leadership and subcontractor management skills

Excellent communication and organisational skills

The ability to work effectively with clients, consultants and senior management

A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making

Relevant construction qualifications

SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications

A strong understanding of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements
