Job Description

Abatec is supporting a key client in the recruitment of a SHEQ Manager to help deliver critical water and wastewater infrastructure programmes across South Wales.

This role sits within an established multi-disciplinary delivery team and is integral to maintaining high standards of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) across a major long-term framework.

Combining strategic leadership with hands-on operational oversight, the SHEQ Manager will support a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, workforce safety, environmental protection, and quality outcomes across multiple live sites and contractor teams.

As SHEQ Manager you will:

  * Lead implementation and continuous improvement of the SHEQ Management System across framework operations.

  * Develop and maintain SHEQ strategy aligned with client expectations, UK legislation and ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001).

  * Develop assurance programmes, audit schedules and compliance monitoring processes.

  * Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including CDM Regulations, HSE guidance and environmental legislation.

  * Develop assurance programmes, audit schedules and compliance monitoring processes.

  * Report on SHEQ performance trends, KPIs and improvement actions to senior management and client representatives.

Our client is looking for a SHEQ Manager with:

  * Proven experience working as part of a Health & Safety team within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure.

  * NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)

  * IOSH membership (or working towards)

  * Strong knowledge of UK H&S and environmental legislation and CDM Regulations.

  * Environmental qualification and/or IEMA membership.

  * EUSR / SHEA Water.

Salary/benefits:

  * Salary £55,000 - £65,000
