Location: Cranfield, Bedford
 Contract Type: Temporary (2 weeks)
 Salary: £250 - £300 CIS per day

Start Date: Tuesday 18th August 2026

Summary

We are seeking a competent and proactive Site Manager to oversee the installation of an 8-bay modular temporary classroom in Cranfield, Bedford. This short-term role, starting Tuesday 18th August for a duration of two weeks, requires hands-on site management to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will coordinate subcontractors, manage site operations, and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations throughout the modular build process. Previous experience in modular construction is highly desirable, ideally with knowledge of modular installation techniques and site logistics. The role demands strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage site documentation and risk assessments effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day site activities for the modular classroom installation
Coordinate subcontractors and ensure smooth workflow on site
Oversee health and safety compliance, including site inductions and toolbox talks
Maintain and update site documentation such as RAMS, permits, and sign-ins
Monitor quality control and ensure the project meets client specifications
Liaise with clients and project teams to resolve issues promptly
Ensure site welfare and safety standards are upheld at all times
Skills

Proven experience in modular build or temporary building installation
Strong site management and leadership skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management
Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and trades
Competent in health and safety compliance and site documentation
Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure
Organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Knowledge of site welfare and environmental requirements
Basic IT literacy for reporting and documentation
Certifications & Standards

Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card
Current First Aid Certificate
Software/Tools
