Job Description

Student Wellbeing Teacher in Newport for September 2026: Children thrive when they feel supported, valued and confident in their learning environment. Academics, a specialist education recruitment agency, is working with schools across Newport to recruit compassionate Student Wellbeing Teachers who are passionate about promoting positive mental wellbeing and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference by creating a calm, inclusive classroom where every child feels safe, encouraged and able to achieve their full potential. The ideal candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Have experience supporting children with social, emotional or wellbeing needs. Be confident in building positive, trusting relationships with pupils, colleagues and families. Demonstrate patience, resilience and professionalism when responding to challenging situations. Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one. Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
