Support Worker – Specialist SEN School (Near the New Forest) Start Date: March 2026 Contract: Long-term, with the strong possibility of becoming permanent Location: Near the New Forest Pay: £100-£110 per day Hours: Full-time, shift-based (morning–afternoon or afternoon–night) About the Role We are seeking caring, resilient and enthusiastic Support Workers for a specialist SEN school located close to the New Forest. This role begins from April 2026 on a long‑term basis, with the school looking to offer a permanent contract for the right person. You will be supporting children and young people with a range of autism spectrum conditions and complex needs, helping them thrive socially, emotionally and academically. This school offers specialist education for pupils aged 7–19, many of whom have EHCPs and require structured, consistent support in both learning and daily routines. No personal care is required, but you will play a key role in promoting independence, building life skills and creating a positive, nurturing environment where every pupil feels safe, listened to and valued. The school’s approach focuses on personalised support, therapeutic input and a calm, structured setting that enables students to flourish. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, and the school’s wider multidisciplinary team to ensure pupils receive consistent, high‑quality care. Key Responsibilities Supporting children with autism and complex needs in day‑to‑day activities and structured programmes Promoting independence, emotional regulation and social development Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils Working collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, therapists and senior staff Providing calm, confident guidance in challenging situations Helping students access learning, therapeutic activities and life‑skills programmes Ensuring students feel safe, secure and supported at all times About the School Supports children and young people with autism, communication difficulties and a wide range of complex needs (ages 7–19) Provides tailored teaching, therapeutic services and a curriculum designed to develop independence, life skills and academic progress   Offers a calm, structured environment where pupils feel safe, valued and supported Encourages creativity, resilience and individualised learning routes Works as part of a multidisciplinary network including teachers, psychologists, therapists and support teams to meet pupils’ holistic needs Individual Profile A nurturing, empathetic and patient nature GCSE Maths and English (A–C) desirable Experience working with additional needs (desirable) Resilient, enthusiastic and adaptable Confident working in challenging or emotionally complex situations First Aid trained or willing to complete training Access to your own car and a clean driving licence is essential Why Work With Us?
