Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting Unqualified Teaching Assistants in Southport to support pupils with additional needs within mainstream primary schools across Southport and surrounding areas.
These SEND Teaching Assistant roles in Southport primary schools involve working with children who require consistent, structured and reliable support due to SEND, physical needs, medical needs and behavioural challenges. We are therefore seeking individuals who not only have relevant experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, but who can also demonstrate strong reliability, punctuality and commitment, as consistency is essential to pupil progress and wellbeing.
Suitable backgrounds may include care settings, children's residential services, youth work, medical support roles or specialist education environments, where behaviour management, emotional support and safeguarding are key.
The Role:
Provide 1:1 and small group SEND support within primary school classrooms.
Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement in learning.
Assist children with physical or medical needs where required.
Work alongside teachers to adapt learning and maintain structure.
Help pupils access the primary curriculum and build confidence.
Develop strong, consistent relationships with pupils to support progress.
Maintain excellent punctuality and attendance to ensure continuity of support.
Essential Experience:
Applicants must have experience supporting children or young people with:
SEND or additional learning needs
Behavioural or emotional needs
Physical or medical needs
Care, residential or similar support backgrounds
