Warehouse Manager
Location: Plymouth
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum

We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join a growing business based in Plymouth.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a busy warehouse operation at an exciting time for the company. Due to continued growth, the business has recently acquired an additional building and is preparing for a warehouse relocation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in setting up the new operation, helping to shape the warehouse layout, processes, workflows and standards from the outset.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of warehouse and warehouse-linked production activities, including:
• Goods In, put-away, storage and replenishment
• Picking, packing, dispatch and returns
• Stock control, cycle counting and inventory accuracy
• Managing daily workloads, labour requirements and operational priorities
• Leading and developing warehouse staff and supervisors
• Planning for peaks, absence, large orders and changing customer demand
• Supporting and leading the operational side of the warehouse relocation
• Designing efficient warehouse layouts, product flows and storage locations
• Coordinating stock migration and the set-up of the new facility
• Managing workflow through embroidery, printing, heat transfer and other customisation activities
• Monitoring productivity, service levels, stock accuracy and operational costs
• Maintaining high standards of health & safety and housekeeping
• Identifying bottlenecks and implementing practical process improvements
• Using ERP/WMS systems to maintain accurate stock and operational information
About You
We are looking for a hands-on Warehouse Manager who is comfortable being visible on the warehouse floor and taking ownership of the operation.
You should have:
• Previous experience managing a warehouse, distribution or similar operational environment
• Strong knowledge of warehouse processes and inventory control
• Experience leading and developing operational teams
• Good understanding of stock accuracy, cycle counting and stocktakes
• Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems
• Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
• The ability to manage service, cost, safety and quality simultaneously
• A proactive approach with the ability to make decisions and get things done
Desirable Experience
Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:
• Warehouse relocations or new site start-ups
• Major warehouse layout or process improvement projects
• Garment customisation, workwear, PPE or light production environments
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
• Forklift/materials handling equipment
• Continuous improvement methodologies
