Location: Cardiff, Wales
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full time contract, Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:10pm. (Term time only.)
Pay: £172.98 to £200 per day (depending on experience.)
A forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Cardiff is seeking a dynamic, creative and passionate Teacher of Welsh to join their Welsh department on a full time basis from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator who is committed to inspiring young people and promoting a love of the Welsh language and culture across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
ECTs/NQTs and experienced teachers are warmly encouraged to apply.
About the Role:
You will deliver engaging and high-quality Welsh language lessons, supporting pupils of all abilities to develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing Welsh. You will play a key role in fostering enthusiasm for the language and culture, helping to promote Welsh identity within the school community.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Ability to teach Welsh across KS3 and KS4
Strong passion for the Welsh language and its cultural importance
Dynamic and creative approach to teaching and learning
Excellent classroom management skills
Ability to motivate and inspire learners of all abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable:
Experience teaching GCSE Welsh (First Language or Second Language)
ECT/NQT applications welcome
Understanding of the Curriculum for Wales
Essential Safeguarding & Compliance:
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
