Primary Teacher (Year 5) – Maternity Cover | Newcastle-under-Lyme

Newcastle-under-Lyme | Full-Time (5 Days) | After Easter Start
Pay: £150 – £200 per day (DOE)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Weekly Pay Available

Astro Education is working with a welcoming primary school in Newcastle-under-Lyme that is looking to appoint a Year 5 Teacher for a full-time maternity cover role starting after the Easter holidays.

This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a consistent, full-time position within a supportive school environment, with potential to extend or lead to future opportunities.

The Role

You will be responsible for teaching a Year 5 class, including:

    Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum

  * 

    Creating a positive and structured classroom environment

  * 

    Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching where required

  * 

    Working closely with colleagues and support staff

  * 

    Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and learning

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from:

    Experienced Primary Teachers

  * 

    Early Career Teachers (ECTs)

Requirements:

  * 

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  * 

    Experience teaching within KS2 (Year 5 experience desirable)

  * 

    Strong classroom management skills

  * 

    A positive, proactive and reliable approach

  * 

    Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
