Year 5 Teaching Assistant – Primary School (E12) 
 Location: East London (E12)
 Start Date: ASAP or January 2026
 Contract Type: Full-time, Term Time Only
 Pay Rate: £(phone number removed) per day (depending on experience)

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and committed Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in E12. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and helping them achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a Year 5 Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting the class teacher with the delivery of lessons and providing targeted support to pupils across the class — including small group work and 1:1 interventions in literacy and numeracy. You’ll play a key role in helping pupils prepare for the transition to Year 6 and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Year 5 teacher in creating engaging and effective learning experiences

Deliver small group interventions and individual support where needed

Encourage positive learning behaviours and emotional well-being

Help prepare resources, displays, and classroom materials

Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture

About You

Experience supporting pupils in KS2, ideally Year 5 or Year 6

A patient, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to learning support

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to motivate and engage pupils of varying abilities

Relevant TA or education-based qualification desirable but not essential
