Youth Support Worker  Location: Swansea Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday Salary: £14.30 per hour / £92.95 per day About the Role Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to work within Specialist Teaching Facilities (STF) across Primary School settings in Swansea. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs (ALN) and making a meaningful difference in their day-to-day school experience. You will be supporting pupils with a range of needs, including autism spectrum conditions, communication difficulties, and complex needs. Some pupils may be non-verbal and require alternative communication methods and structured, nurturing support. We offer flexible opportunities, both part time and full time, to fit around your lifestyle. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils within an STF setting. Support children with ALN, ASD, sensory needs, and emotional regulation. Assist pupils who may be non-verbal or have limited verbal communication, using appropriate communication strategies and visual supports. Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social development. Support pupils to access learning and engage with classroom activities. Work closely with teachers, ALN staff, and other professionals to deliver consistent and effective support. Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment. What We Are Looking For A patient, calm, and empathetic individual with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs. Experience working with children or young people with ALN, SEN, ASD, or complex needs (highly desirable, but not essential). An understanding that behaviour is a form of communication. Confidence in supporting pupils with sensory needs and structured routines. Experience in education, care, youth work, or SEN settings is advantageous.  What We Offer Ongoing CPD and SEN-focused training. Dedicated support from a specialist Teaching Personnel consultant.
