Job Description

The role

Are you an experience Support Worker with either a BSL qualification or experience using British Sign Language? We are working with an organisation in Newcastle that is looking to add Support Workers to their team. You will work on a permanent basis in a home that has recently been opened. You will support 2 young gentlemen moving into their first home following completing College.

You will need to be able to work a shift pattern covering 24 hours per day including Early/Late/Weekend and Night shifts.

What we need from you

We need someone who is an experienced Support Worker, focused on providing the best possible care. We are looking for candidates with an understanding of Positive behaviour Support and meeting complex needs of autistic people, who display behaviour that may challenge. Candidates must also have the drive to complete the BSL qualification (if you don't already hold the qualification).

Ideally you will have experience within health and social care, specifically supporting people with learning and/or physical disabilities and a background in ISL or small care home environments.
