Job Description

Job Title: Catering Assistant

Trust: Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust

Location: Tameside Hospital – Hartshead Restaurant

Working Hours: 30–40 hours per week

Shift Pattern:

  * Monday to Friday

  * 7:00am–3:00pm or 9:30am–5:30pm

Pay Rate: £12.92

We are looking for motivated Catering Assistants to join our friendly team at Tameside Hospital, Hartshead Restaurant. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic setting, supporting our patients, staff, and visitors while developing your skills in food service and hospitality.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  * Serve hot meals, snacks, and beverages to customers

  * Prepare and stock the restaurant for service

  * Operate cash registers and maintain portion control

  * Clear tables and clean service and dining areas

  * Wash crockery, cutlery, and equipment

  * Stock and maintain vending machines

  * Support patient tray meal service

  * Follow food hygiene and safety procedures

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

  * Food Safety Level 2 and Allergen Awareness training (required before offer)

  * Knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety, or willingness to learn

  * Good communication and customer service skills

  * Basic numeracy skills

  * Ability to use cleaning and food prep equipment

  * Reliable, hardworking, and able to thrive in a busy environment
