Commercial Manager – Major Projects (Passive Fire Protection)
Salary: Up to £65,000 (flexible DOE)
Location: London (Hybrid working available)
We are partnered with a leading organisation within the passive fire protection sector, seeking a Commercial Manager to join their expanding Major Projects division. This position offers the opportunity to take commercial ownership of large-scale, high-value projects and contribute to the continued growth of a rapidly developing business.
We are open to speaking with candidates who have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying or Commercial role, particularly those who have managed complex major projects—ideally within a Tier 1 contractor environment or similar.
The Role As Commercial Manager, you will oversee key opportunities through the full commercial and project lifecycle—from pre-contract and tendering through to delivery, billing, and final account. You will play a critical role in ensuring commercial success, developing strong client relationships, and identifying opportunities for future business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Commercially manage major projects throughout the full lifecycle, ensuring profitability and successful delivery.
Collaborate closely with internal delivery teams to ensure quality, compliance and service excellence.
Produce accurate commercial reporting, forecasting and financial analysis.
Review and enhance operational and commercial processes for continuous improvement.
Lead client engagement, building long-term relationships and supporting revenue growth.
Support bid preparation, pricing strategies, and contract negotiation.
Manage commercial risk, compliance, and tender documentation.
Identify new business opportunities and contribute to wider commercial strategy.
About You
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying or Commercial role.
Experience managing high-value construction or passive fire protection projects (Major Projects / Tier 1 contractor exposure highly desirable).
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Financially astute with strong reporting and analytical capability.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Relationship-driven approach with a commitment to client excellence.
Strategic thinker with strong commercial decision-making ability.
