Job Description

Senior Electrical Estimator – Dublin
Office Based | Dublin 22

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to join a growing pre-construction team responsible for producing accurate, timely, and competitive estimates across a range of large-scale electrical projects.

This role will involve managing the full tender process from initial enquiry through to submission and post-tender follow-up, supporting projects across pharmaceutical, healthcare, and large commercial sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed electrical estimates, reviewing tender documentation, gathering supplier and subcontractor quotations, and ensuring all submissions are commercially robust and technically accurate.

A strong understanding of electrical systems and the ability to interpret schematics, layout drawings, and coordinated M&E drawings is essential. You will also be expected to identify commercial and technical risks within tender documents, prepare clear assumptions and exclusions, and contribute value engineering solutions where appropriate.

The role requires close liaison with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal delivery teams to ensure pricing aligns with practical project execution. You will also support bid discussions, maintain organised estimating records, and contribute to improving estimating accuracy through lessons learned from completed projects.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Prepare and submit tenders for electrical projects across pharmaceutical, healthcare, and commercial sectors

  * 

    Carry out detailed electrical take-offs from drawings and tender documentation

  * 

    Gather supplier and subcontractor quotations for accurate pricing

  * 

    Identify technical and commercial risks within tender submissions

  * 

    Prepare assumptions, exclusions, and risk allowances

  * 

    Support value engineering and pre-construction discussions

  * 

    Maintain clear records of estimates and supporting documentation

  * 

    Review BIM information where required to support estimating

Requirements

  * 

    Proven experience in electrical estimating within large-scale projects

  * 

    Strong understanding of electrical building services and tender processes

  * 

    Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately

  * 

    Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills

  * 

    Experience using estimating software and spreadsheets

  * 

    Ideally 4+ years within an electrical or M&E contracting environment

  * 

    Relevant qualification or equivalent practical experience
