Senior Mechanical Estimator

Dublin (Hybrid / Office-Based)
€85,000 - €100,000 + Benefits

Overview

My client is a leading mechanical engineering and building services contractor delivering complex, high-value projects across sectors such as data centres, pharmaceuticals, commercial, and industrial developments.

Due to continued growth, my client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to join their pre-construction team. This role will be responsible for leading the preparation of accurate, competitive tenders and supporting the commercial success of major projects.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the preparation of detailed mechanical cost estimates, including labour, materials, plant, and subcontract packages
Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
Manage the full tender lifecycle, from initial enquiry through to final submission
Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive pricing
Identify commercial risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
Collaborate with design, commercial, and project teams during pre-construction
Support bid strategy and contribute to client engagement activities
Mentor and guide junior estimators within the team

Candidate Requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline
5-10+ years' experience in mechanical estimating within an M&E or building services environment
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, pipework, and mechanical systems
Proven experience delivering accurate estimates on large-scale projects
Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
Advanced proficiency in Excel and estimating software

Salary & Benefits

Base Salary:

€85,000 - €100,000Benefits Package:

Annual Leave: 25 days + public holidays
Car Allowance: €6,000 - €8,000 per annum (or company vehicle)
Pension: 7.5% employer contribution
Bonus: Discretionary performance-related bonus
