The Role
Are you a passionate educator who believes the best classroom has no walls? We are seeking an inspirational Outdoor Education Teacher to join our team in Barnoldswick. You will lead the development of our outdoor curriculum, using the stunning local landscape to re-engage students and build their resilience, confidence, and practical life skills.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Design: Plan and deliver high-quality outdoor learning sessions including Bushcraft, Forest School, and Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) activities.
Stealth Learning: Integrate core academic goals (literacy, numeracy, and science) into hands-on outdoor projects.
Student Support: Work with small groups to provide a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach to education, particularly for learners with SEMH needs.
Safety & Compliance: Conduct rigorous risk-benefit assessments and maintain all outdoor equipment to high safety standards.
Who You Are
Qualified: You hold QTS/QTLS or a Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification (or equivalent NGB awards).
Resilient: You are happy to lead sessions in all Lancashire weathers and possess excellent positive behaviour management skills.
Experienced: You have a track record of working with young people in an outdoor or alternative provision setting.
Driver: A full UK driving license is essential (D1 minibus license is a major plus).
