A well-established Primary SEMH specialist school in Burnley is seeking a committed SEN Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with additional emotional and behavioural needs. This is a demanding yet highly rewarding role, ideal for individuals with strong resilience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
The Role - SEN Behaviour Mentor
In this SEN Behaviour Mentor role, you will work with pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, delivering 1:1 and small-group support to help them engage with learning and develop more positive behavioural patterns.
You will play a central role in managing challenging behaviour, using structured and consistent strategies to support emotional regulation and effectively de-escalate situations. Building strong, trusting relationships will be essential, as you act as a reliable and positive role model for pupils who require stability, guidance, and encouragement.
You will support pupils with needs including SEMH, ADHD, Autism, and trauma-related behaviours, helping them overcome barriers to learning and build confidence both in and out of the classroom.
