Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Humanities Teacher to join a supportive SEN secondary school. The school supports students with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties, and provides a structured and nurturing learning environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated Humanities lessons (such as History, Geography, or PSHE) tailored to meet the individual needs of students. You will work closely with teaching assistants and SEN staff to ensure pupils are supported both academically and emotionally, helping them build confidence and achieve their learning goals.

Key Responsibilities

  * Plan and deliver adapted Humanities lessons suitable for students with SEN

  * Support pupils in achieving their EHCP targets and individual learning goals

  * Use creative and engaging teaching strategies to support student progress

  * Manage behaviour using positive and supportive strategies

  * Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and SEN staff

  * Monitor and assess student progress

Requirements

  * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  * Experience teaching Humanities subjects at secondary level

  * Experience or strong interest in working with SEN pupils

  * Strong classroom management and communication skills

  * A patient, flexible, and supportive approach
