SEN Teaching Assistant

 💷 £105–£120 per day

 A supportive and inclusive SEN school in the Swanley area is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils with ADHD, Down’s Syndrome, and language & communication difficulties. Skilled use of Makaton is essential for this role.
 Role Responsibilities
Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of additional needs
Use Makaton to support communication and engagement
Assist pupils with ADHD, Down’s Syndrome, and speech/language difficulties in accessing the curriculum
Implement behaviour strategies and structured routines
Support social, emotional, and communication development
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and the wider SEN team
Help create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive learning environmentRequirements
Experience with ADHD, Down’s Syndrome, and language/communication needs
Confident using Makaton
Patience, empathy, and a positive, proactive approach
Understanding of behaviour strategies and communication support
Ability to build strong, consistent relationships with pupils
Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain oneWhat’s on Offer
