Do you have experience teaching English to students with SEND needs?

Are you confident delivering engaging English lessons to students with additional needs such as ASD and SEMH?

Do you have the resilience and adaptability to support young people in a therapeutic education setting?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist independent school in Bristol, offering a therapeutic and nurturing environment for young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. The setting places a strong focus on personalised learning, emotional wellbeing, and supporting students to re-engage with education in a safe and structured environment.

The school is looking to take on a SEND English Teacher on a temp to perm basis, starting ASAP on a full-time basis. The successful SEND English Teacher will be delivering English to small classes of students with additional needs including ASD, SEMH and associated behaviours, requiring strong behaviour management and a tailored, flexible teaching approach.

The successful SEND English Teacher will have:
• QTS with an English specialism
• Experience teaching English up to KS3 / KS4
• Experience working with students with SEND, particularly ASD and SEMH
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
