Job Description

Teacher (PMLD) – Maternity Cover
 
Location: Gateshead | Start: September | Monday–Thursday (Full Days)

 We are currently working with a specialist provision to recruit a Teacher for a PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) maternity cover role starting in September.

 This is an agency placement within a supportive and well-resourced setting.

 About the Role 
You will be responsible for a small group of 3 pupils aged approximately 5–15 years. The role involves delivering highly individualised, sensory-based learning tailored to complex needs.

 Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver highly differentiated learning for pupils with PMLD
Lead a small team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs)
Work closely with external professionals including therapists and specialist teachers
Support pupils’ EHCP targets and overall development
Create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environmentWorking Pattern
Monday to Thursday
Full-day commitment
Maternity cover from SeptemberRequirements
Experience working with PMLD or complex needs
Confident leading support staff within the classroom
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work effectively with multi-agency professionals
QTS/QTLS or equivalent (preferred)What We Offer
