Role Overview
You will join our KS1 team as a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, supporting class teachers and working closely with children in Year 1 and Year 2. Your role will involve both whole-class support and targeted small-group or one-to-one interventions to help children make excellent progress.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons in KS1.
Work individually or with small groups of children to reinforce learning and build confidence.
Support positive behaviour and contribute to a positive classroom culture of respect and motivation.
Monitor pupil progress, provide feedback, and alert the teacher to any concerns or opportunities.
Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
Communicate effectively with staff, parents and carers as needed to support pupil development.
Person Specification - Successful Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children in a Key Stage 1 (or similar) setting.
A recognised Level 2 TA qualification (or equivalent) - or a strong willingness to obtain one.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and families.
A clear understanding of how children learn in KS1 and strategies to support that learning effectively.
A positive, flexible attitude and a commitment to our school's core values of respect, resilience, independence and motivation.
Ability to work as part of a supportive team and contribute to a reflective school culture.
