TeacherActive is currently recruiting Specialist ALN Teaching Assistants to support pupils in welcoming primary schools across Port Talbot. These roles focus on providing targeted support for learners with a range of additional learning needs, helping them access education, build confidence, and thrive in the classroom.

Your Role as a Specialist ALN Teaching Assistant

Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs

Support pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEBD

Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and developing independence

Work closely with teachers and ALNCOs to support Individual Development Plans (IDPs)

Use positive behaviour strategies and structured support approaches

Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For

Experience working with children or young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)

A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Experience in schools, care, youth work, or support roles is highly valued

No formal qualifications? Transferable skills from care, support work, or youth services are welcome.
