Operating as a leading name in the electrical industry, known for designing, developing and distributing high-quality electrical accessories, lighting solutions, CCTV, fire alarm and smart technologies to the professional trade market.
With a strong reputation for innovation, reliability and technical expertise, our client is looking for a Technical Support Advisor. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure clear communication and assist customers across CCTV, Fire Alarm, Access Control and Smart Security product ranges. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical and customer service skills within a well-established and respected organisation.
The key responsibilities of this role as a Technical Support Advisor:
* Respond to customer enquiries primarily via telephone and email.
* Diagnose and resolve technical issues through research, product testing, replication and troubleshooting.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues across email, chat, phone and in person.
* Document all technical enquiries and contribute to the development and maintenance of knowledge-base articles.
* Assist in the testing and evaluation of new, existing and returned products to ensure they meet specification.
* Support the returns procedure and work closely with Area Sales Managers on customer-specific issues.
* Demonstrate competent computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office.
* Ensure all activities comply with company Health & Safety policies and broader organisational requirements.
* Undertake any additional tasks necessary to support the efficiency and productivity of the Technical Support Team.
* Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of company products.
Qualifications and skills of a Technical Support Advisor:
* A positive and professional attitude towards the company and its product range
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Well-organised with a structured approach to work
* Customer-focused and service-oriented mindset
* High level of PC literacy, including Microsoft Office applications
* Confident in managing client relationships and expectations
* Proactive, with the ability to work independently when required
* Strong team player with good collaborative skills
* Basic understanding of electrical principles or familiarity with CCTV and alarm systems
The employment package for a Technical Support Advisor:
* Monday – Friday
* £29,000 per annum
* 25 days holidays
* Annual bonus scheme
