Technical Sales & Service Advisor

£36,000 - £40,000 + Bonus | Ewhurst | Monday to Friday 8-5 | Office Based

Are you a technically minded automotive professional who enjoys speaking with customers and helping them make informed decisions?

We're recruiting on behalf of a successful independent garage group for a Technical Sales & Service Advisor to join their friendly office team in Ewhurst. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong automotive knowledge who can confidently explain repair recommendations, build trust with customers, and help convert estimates into confirmed bookings.

This isn't a hard sales role. It's about providing excellent customer service, offering clear advice, and giving customers the confidence to proceed with the work their vehicle needs.

The Role

Working as part of a small, supportive team, you'll be responsible for creating accurate repair estimates and following up with customers to discuss the work recommended for their vehicle.

Enquiries will come from a variety of sources, including:

  * Vehicle Health Checks (VHCs)

  * MOT failures

  * General customer enquiries

  * Recommended repair work

You'll prepare detailed estimates, explain the work and associated costs, offer customers different repair options where appropriate, and confidently ask for the booking. Where customers decide not to proceed, you'll gather feedback to help improve future quote conversions.

What You'll Be Doing

  * Producing accurate quotations for vehicle repairs and maintenance

  * Calling customers to explain recommended work and associated costs

  * Offering repair options to suit different budgets where appropriate

  * Following up outstanding estimates to maximise booking conversions

  * Building trust through honest, knowledgeable conversations rather than high-pressure selling

  * Recording customer feedback when work isn't authorised

  * Working closely with the workshop and service team to ensure a smooth customer journey

What We're Looking For

  * Automotive technical knowledge is essential

  * Previous experience in a Service Advisor, Parts Advisor, Workshop Controller, Vehicle Technician or similar automotive role

  * Excellent communication and customer service skills

  * Comfortable speaking with customers over the phone

  * Confident using computer systems to prepare estimates and manage bookings

  * Someone who can explain technical information in a clear, customer-friendly way

  * A positive, organised approach with strong attention to detail

What's On Offer

  * Basic salary of £36,000 - £40,000

  * Bonus scheme (details available during the recruitment process)

  * Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (1-hour lunch)

  * No weekend working

  * 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
